The bass drum attack thing is intentional. The first hit is softer than the second to accentuate the double. He has no problem with speed or consistency as you can hear when he's playing a double flurry. It's a personal esthetic thing.

This is Black Metal... the satanic stuff from the 90's. "vobiscum satanas" is Latin and means "Satan with you" (you is plural, "vobis", as Latin has a singular and plural "you" unlike English). It's a play on the Latin phrase "vobiscum christus", Christ be with you or Christ go with you. Just a fun extra fact that not everyone knows, English used to have a singular you and plural you as separate words... thou/thee/thy was singular and you/ye is originally plural.

I started to play drums when i was 15 and my music taste was all over the place, had some 50´s rock, beatles and some disco and i used to play drums to my mothers ABBA records. After maybee a year it was to easy i didnt feel i was progressing any more with that music so i tested to play jazz and that was much more tricky but i never fell in love in the energy of the music. Then i got my hands on a record with Sweet and heard the song Man with the golden arm.This started my love for metal and heavy rock, this was music that would keep me progressing for years before i fealt i was good enough. So the name Thomas Hakke, is Swedish and in Swedish u prenounce the e at the end, its not silent like in english words. ty for a good reaction

Hey Garrett, I saw this drummer, Zach hill, come in late for a show one time..a solo performance..He rushed down by car from Calais to Rotterdam. He came in (some old factory) placed his tapedeck in front of his drums ,pressed 'play'and played the shit outta his kit. Leaving everybody present speechless in amaze..but you were right..its a jazz descendent. Best solo act i ever saw though..

As a jazz drummer (if I remember right), you have more than likely checked out John Bonham. He is the drummer that brought a jazz style to rock, if you haven't. Check him out, but I'm sure like most drummers. You know who he is, awesome job on this one. Keep it up
